Pavement solutions: 1. Just prior to the race load up your shoes with as much mud as you can pack into and onto them (Instant trail!). 2. Carry a coupla hundred pound bags of dirt (or soft sand) and spill it directly in your path -- again with the trail. (Note: Be sure to carry enough for the entire distance.) 3. Toughen your pegs the night prior to the event by doing a series of barefoot karate-style concrete slab-busting strikes (Hint: you'll probably know when you've done enough). 4. Sleep-in the morning of the race. 5. Assault course officials and other runners (e.g., your excuse is: you couldn't finish because THEY arrested you).
I got lots more. Just ask... Mr. SolutionMan BTW: Get off the F'ing pavement
A 12K?! How far is that? That's like 10 knots or 24 celsiuses, right? I hope there's going to be snack carts on the route. Carry lots of money.
