For some reason my camera makes me sound like Snagglepuss!

  1. I can tell from the sound of your footfalls that you're already going faster than me. Nuts!

  3. I couldn't find the delete button so barring that I'll make a comment. Dude, you need to run like a Kenyan ...or Ethiopian. Your camera work is way too jerky. You've really got smooth things out -- you might want to see about getting those legs stretched out about 6 inches and lose the calves. I suggest you go to the rift valley and reselect your parents. Also, you're breathing too much. Knock it off.

But we're really proud of you,
    Mom

  5. Rick, I am so happy to see you on the road again. DO NOT GIVE UP. Of course its bloody hard; you haven't done it a while and there is no one running next to you telling you jokes to abate the boredom. It will get easier, you know it will, and it is so worth it. Maybe we should train together long distance for something? I'm just back to it myself from injury. Back in the beginning, I know what worked best for me was finding a group to run with. Maybe a wonderful running shoe store owner will take pity on you, run at YOUR pace until you get back to where you want to be (just accept where you are for now, you won't be there forever), and become one of your best friends at the same time. I know, I know, Herb and Ben will complain that this missive is BORING and too NICE. Don't give up.

  6. I thoroughly enjoyed it from the comfort of my easy chair. Hopefully, your continued success will inspire me to get up. The last real exercise I had was our geocache adventure from Bondi Beach. I don't think that counts.
